The August Gate Church Planting Development Program (CPD) is truly an extension of our vision to plant churches throughout the St. Louis metro area. Our goal is to train, mentor, disciple, and equip as many men and women as possible, through internships and residencies, to plant healthy, reproducing, gospel-centered, missional churches. There are two entry points into the CPD. Participants are not required to go through each one, though that is highly recommended.
Church Planting Internships
Open to both males and females 18 years or older and last 12 months. These internships are open to those who already have a working knowledge of church planting and are pursuing a possible call to church planting. CP Interns are a vital part of the team and receive intentional coaching and instruction.
Church Planting Residencies
Open to male candidates who not only feel called to plant a church, but feel called specifically to plant in the St. Louis Metro area. Residencies last a minimum of 12 months, and focus primarily on preparing the church planter to launch within that time. Residencies are highly selective and only available to those men who qualify and meet certain standards as determined by several assessment tools. Each residency is preceded by a lengthy assessment and interview process.
